A computer science PhD is built around one research question. This page covers machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, data management, cryptography and security, and quantum computing. The 11 open programmes here are at Carnegie Mellon University, William & Mary, The Ohio State University, Imperial College London, King's College London (KCL), University College London (UCL) and other universities; 8 accept applicants straight from a bachelor's degree; 2 state full funding.
Admission depends most on research fit: the projects you have built, the code you have written and the papers you have read, and how closely they connect with the supervisor's current work. Each programme page lists the research areas and requirements, so start with the two or three closest to you.
For many of the programmes we work with, you can interview with a prospective supervisor before the formal application. Tell us your major, grades and the area you want to work on, and we will check which programmes fit.
