Going straight from a bachelor's degree to a PhD saves you a master's year and gets your research started sooner. All 57 programmes on this page accept applicants with a bachelor's degree, across the UK, the US, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, in fields from computer science and electronics to biomedical engineering, anthropology, education and psychology.
For direct-entry applicants, supervisors look for one thing above all: can you explain a piece of research you have done — the question, the part you did, and what you found? A thesis project, a student research grant or lab work all count.
For every programme we work with, you meet your prospective supervisor before you submit a formal application. Once the supervisor is on board, you apply through the university, and the timeline is far easier to plan.
Pick a programme close to your interests and leave your university, major and grades — we'll tell you whether it's a fit.
